The Chelsea defender is set to be added to the Three Lions selection to cover for injured Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi. The 26-year-old footballer is scheduled to meet up with the national side for England's final World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Serbia, but it has still not been officially announced. The Three Lions have already secured qualification for the upcoming competition. Chalobah earned his first call-up under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in May and then made his debut against Senegal. In the month of September, Tuchel said Chalobah was unfortunate to be excluded from the selection for qualifiers against Serbia and Andorra, and additionally omitted him for the following October international break. Tuchel has been an important influence in Chalobah's development, having awarded him his Chelsea first appearance in 2021. Chalobah has featured in nearly all games for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the club third in the English top flight, in the Carabao Cup last eight and in the league phase of the Champions League. Guehi suffered a foot problem in Crystal Palace's Conference League success over the Dutch side last week. There are likely to be additional inclusions to the squad. Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe has said that both attacker Anthony Gordon (hip) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) will withdraw from the squad.
