Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his first championship for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a former world number one, has endured a torrid period, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in especial - led to him falling of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with former mentor Cervara.

Currently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.

This marks his first trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after spring of 2023.

The win also signifies he has secured 21 victories at twenty-one different tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters at once, so to win a title is particularly special," commented tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my child her name, because the first title I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six finals, including in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's defensive approach and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had caused commentators to question if his capacity to perform at the highest level was concluded.

But the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and perform positively, backed up by an better serve.

He came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky Moutet, securing 4 of the last five games to take the lead.

The pair traded service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to force a decider.

He rescued four early chances in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev broke to 15 to serve for the match.

Fittingly, Medvedev earned the win with a rally at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
