'Enduring a Horrific Ordeal': Relatives of Unaccounted For Teens Desperately Seek Information After Ski Resort Blaze

The relatives of teens missing after a devastating fire at a bar in a Switzerland's alpine town are facing an painful period of uncertainty for answers and requesting information about their children online.

The inferno devastated the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of the Valais region, in the middle of the night of January 1st. Confirmed footage show the ceiling being engulfed in flames as beverages with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Emergency services have warned that it could take days if not weeks to formally name the those who perished of the disaster, which killed numerous partygoers and hurt another 119. Authorities said on Friday that 113 of the injured have been accounted for, with work still underway to identify the final individuals.

In the waiting period, relatives have been posting on online platforms to request clues about their loved ones who were in attendance that evening.

Desperate Searches for the Unaccounted For

The location of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, 16, are still unconfirmed, according to an appeal from his family.

The resident of Lutry near Lausanne, informed a local newspaper that she had returned to the city to check whether he was in the medical facility, while his father did the same in the capital, but did not locate him.

"This is a living nightmare, a horror. The options are finding my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in intensive care. It's horrific," she told the paper.

She explained that some of his peers had been located with injuries covering a significant portion of their bodies. "There are no words; they experienced hell."

The Italian government has confirmed that six of its young people are still unaccounted for.

Junior golfer Emanuele Galeppini, 16, was last heard from around the turn of the new year on December 31st, his father said.

Among them is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old sportsman, originally from Genoa but now living in the UAE.

The national sporting body has released a tribute that he is dead, without mentioning the tragedy, honoring a "young athlete who embodied dedication and true sportsmanship."

His parent, is quoted as saying that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around midnight. An official spokesperson has clarified that a formal confirmation of his death is still pending.

Other Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is also among the missing. His parent told reporters that he had been on holiday but had gone out with friends and found himself at the venue.

"Someone with him told me they fled after the fire erupted and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a certain point he couldn't see him anymore," she recounted, adding he had been wearing a identifiable gold chain.

One of his teachers commented, "I've always been struck by his kindness and smile, combined with great responsibility. Every time ask if get me a coffee."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Swiss and Greek nationality but lives full-time in the country, was also present on New Year's Eve, according to sources.

Her sibling has shared an urgent request online, saying the relatives has had "no information" regarding the 15-year-old or the group she was with, who are also unaccounted for.

Officials from her other nation say they are continuing to monitor the case.
