Charli XCX Embraces a Hell Version of Her Own Identity in Fictional Documentary Teaser

Charli XCX is getting ready for a substantial cinematic onslaught in 2026, starting with the mockumentary titled The Moment.

Throughout the movie, Charli portrays what she describes as a twisted version of herself.

It’s the realest depiction of the music business that I’ve ever witnessed, Charli remarked.

She further explained in a discussion: It’s far from a live performance documentary, however the inspiration stemmed from the pressure to produce one.

A Sneak Peek into The Moment

The first teaser, released on recently, mixes authentic footage from her live performances with made-up behind-the-scenes moments.

The film is directed and co-written by her collaborator, who explained that the plot focuses on a reality where Charli opted for alternate decisions during the promotion of her chart-topping release Brat.

She recently signed on to appear in Dakota Johnson’s directorial debut A Tree in Blue.

I’m deeply appreciating my foray into acting, Charli shared. I’m highly enthusiastic at the moment in acting, and I solely want to do things that inspire me.

Soundtrack Involvement

February will also include the release of the filmmaker’s interpretation of Wuthering Heights, which will feature new music from Charli.

Additionally, she will compose the score for the story Mother Mary, with Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, scheduled for release next year.

The Moment is set to premiere on January 30.
